Ouch Melly - this is dreadful. I think you need Jenni's red boots to try to get something done before the weekend comes around again. I've felt awful badgering the rheumy nurses this week but it appears that the only way to get any help is to make a complete nuisance of yourself. I know you are feeling low but please keep phoning them for an answer. This is a serious risk to your health. Sorry fo sounding bossy. Just can't believe how you are being messed around.

Oh Melly this seems to of been going on for ages. You are being pushed from pillow to post, been given a right run around. Don't they understand that while this is hapening you are in pain? It's about time they thought of you and gave you some treatment.

Lets hope that the fax to your dentist was sent straight away and you can get something done ASAP.

Gentle Hugs

Love Paula x x

Melly, you have my utmost sympathy. I had an abcess and extraction just before being diagnosed with Sjogrens and RA, then developed an infection in my jaw bone. The pain was shocking. I lived for the next dose of tramadol.

Have you tried clove oil? I forced myself to dab it on the affected part of the gum with a cotton wool bud. The relief was immense! I have always hated the smell and taste of cloves but grew to love it for the smile it put back on my face. I needed metronizadol(?) and amoxycillin and got dreadful diahorrea as a result.

Hope you get the right treatment soon and can start feeling better XX Ailsa

Sorry to hear you're still suffering, Melly. Have you tried gargling with Tea Tree oil (diluted)? It's good for all kinds of infections, a real cure-all.

We're praying for you, Melly.

Hope you get the painful tooth sorted out SOON!

The mouthwash may help and I know you said you dislike clove oil, is that the taste?? It does numb the area well!

Love and prayers,

Amanda

aw grr
no news
oh yes but see the abscess is inside tooth not outside so dont see oil would help,im hoping they do ring back today and fit me in this week to start this lengthy process aprently il either have root canal plus crown or il loose tooth completely they just dont know till start drilling the tooth is fractured so may just break completely.
why me so fed up whole buisness.

il see what can get at shop prefer tea tree, before i use cotton bud to smear it on gum il try that.just better not make me throw up yukky.

tell me anyone have RA in gums cause this another reason i was referred swollen gums red,not peridontal discease dentist ruled that out.
can i ask rheumy look into that?

did tell him last year first thing asked had seen dentist whcih i had so then said it was mtx and upped the folic acid reduced mtx well not on mtx now.

or could it be the naproxen im wondering.

and if RA gets to gums whats the treatment, thats my query.
maybe il ring nras to see what they know.

right im off to shops see if carnt get the tea tree oil use it mouthwash also.better than nothing.
thks amanda.

just spoken to friend who said what does dental consultant mean im not sick enough, once all this done do feel a nhs complaint coming out this.
makes me wonder what others have gone threw.

mellly, what a complete nightmare this has been, and still ongoing!! Did you hear anything by the end of the day? Surely until they look at the tooth they cant say for sure that drilling will cause it to break? A ridiculous situation is just becoming worse!! Thinking of you and sending (((((hugs)))))

Melly

You poor thing. Not only is it awful you have an abscess but having to wait so long for treatment is disgraceful. My Husband has had a couple of abscesses in his teeth and he said he has never known pain like it. He eventually had the teeth pulled to relieve the pain and he puts up with the gap quite happily. I hope you do not have to go this far but bear it in mind. They can do wonders nowadays filling in gaps with bridges etc so if you cannot save the tooth there is always options.

I do believe that the medication we take can cause inflamed gums. I am waiting to see the hygienist as my dentist said last week that my gums were very red and inflamed but he does not think it is down to my not cleaning my teeth properly. He wants to keep my mouth in tip top condition because of the RA and the drugs I will have to keep on taking. Look at the following link about gum disease and rheumatoid arthritis. http://naturaldentistry....o-rheumatoid-arthritis/

I hope that someone at your dentist wakes up tomorrow and does the job they should be doing.

Take care

Jackie

Hi Melly - very disappointed no call for you. Please ring your dentist in the morning. I know it's difficult to do but don't hold off any longer, they should have had the fax last week. Will be thinking of you and hope you get some news tomorrow.

Julie xx
